Your roof is the most important line of defense between your house and the weather. JDT uses only the finest materials, whether you want traditional asphalt shingles, cedar shakes, copper, Vermont slate, slate composites, steel, or an energy efficient roof. Links to our partner companies are on the blue sidebar on the right of this page.
Asphalt Shingles
In traditional asphalt shingles, we recommend Certainteed, GAF ELK, and TAMKO. Their excellent lines of products range from 30 years to a lifetime guarantee. Visit Certainteed to learn more about their Landmark and Landmark Woodscape series; visit GAF ELK to learn about their Timberline Prestique High Definition shingles; and TAMKO to learn about their Heritage Series.
Copper
A copper roof adds elegance to any home. Over time, the rich pinkish copper color oxidizes, and leaves you with the classic green patina. To dispel popular myths, a copper roof is no louder or noisier than a traditional roof and does not attract lightning any more than any other roofing material!
Vermont Slate
The timeless beauty of a multi-colored, random width slate roof dates back as far as the 13th century. A hallmark of Vermont slate is the unique color variations, found only in this regional variety. Your home can be a castle with a slate roof! Visit Vermont Slate for more information.
Slate Composite Shingles
Slate composite shingles are a more economical way to bring the beauty of slate to your roof. Slate composite shingles are made of innovative composite materials that are robust, fire resistant, and enduring. They are formed to the specific textures and contours of slate to create authentic dimension and beauty, plus, they're lighter in weight and more resistant against cracking under inclement weather or heavy foot traffic. Visit TAMKO for more information.
Steel
Steel roofs are available in many different styles, and will far outlast conventional roofing. Plus, they are cost efficient, environmentally friendly and energy efficient! We recommend ATAS International's metal roofing products; visit their site for more information on materials and options. Visit ATAS for more information.
Cedar Shakes
For natural beauty, cedar shakes are a great choice. Handsawn and resawn shakes have split faces and sawn backs, and evoke gentle country living. A cedar shake roof can be expected to last 30 to 40 years. Visit the Cedar Shake & Shingle Bureau for more information.
Green / Energy Efficient / 'Cool Roofs'
You don't need to have a big budget to 'go green' anymore; energy efficient roofing alternatives are available in many types of roofing, including solar reflective asphalt shingles in a range of colors, light-colored traditional asphalt shingles, steel, and certain tiles. Contact JDT Construction for your green roofing needs; we'd be delighted to advise you! And visit Certainteed to learn more about their Solaris series, and GAF ELK to learn more about their Cool Shingles series.
